The Flanders Classics organisation selected around 40 riders who wore a tracker during the Tour of Flanders on Sunday 7th April. This tracker recorded five parameters: speed, location, heart rate, cadence and power output. All the live data registered was be integrated into an online format by Proximus on the following website: rondevanvlaanderen.proximus-sports.be.
Fans were able to follow data from every rider equipped with a tracker. From this group, the fans at home had the option to select a number of riders they want to follow and choose a favourite amongst them. In addition, the position of the viewer’s favorite rider was highlighted in relation to the other selected riders, allowing you to constantly monitor this rider’s position in the race.
By introducing this innovative element to the women’s race, Flanders Classics, Proximus, the teams and In The Race are continuing to show their increased support of women’s cycling.
